Mure Memorial, as part of the Church of Scotland, organised according to the 'Presbyterian' tradition
The main decision making group of the church is called the 'Kirk Session'. This is a committee comprising all the church elders together with the minister. It is the duty of the Kirk Session to lead the congregation and to bring 'the ordinances of religion' to the surrounding parish area.
A second level of decision making is placed into the hands of the Congregational Board who have been tasked with the job of dealing with issues relating to fabric and finance. The Board (as it is often called) is made up of the minister, elders and an elected group of church members.
Within both Kirk Session and Congregational Board there are subgroups who work on particular areas of church life, such as the finance committee, halls committee, social committee etc.
